Text Box: Tom married Anna Enblom, and they lived in a house that was built by her father, Charles Enblom. It is the first house in Maiden Rock on the lakeside, coming from the west. It is not a very big house, and here they raised seven children, Irene, Mildred, Idell, Rosella, Glen Warren and Yvonne. Louis Malmquist lived in a little cabin/trailer on their lot. Tom and Anna never owned an automobile, so they had to depend on other means of transportation if they were to go anywhere. They never went very far from home, as Tom told Ed that he went on a trip once, all the way to Viroqua, WI. To Tom, that was a very long trip. Perhaps that was the farthest that he ever traveled. When their children were grown, the children had cars so then they could take their parents places.
Tom was musical as he played the accordion, harmonica, and Hawaiian guitar. They also had a banjo, drum, and a pump organ. Anna gave the organ to her niece, Dorothy Smith Anderson, which led Dorothy to take piano lessons from Mrs. Bert Thompson, and organ Text Box: lessons in Red Wing. Dorothy played the organ at the Gilman Lutheran Church for over twenty years.
