Text Box: THE AGE OF NEFARIOUS By Phil Roberts The Age of Nefarious or better known as the Age of Pisces has been an interesting lesson in humanity. An astrological age is approximately 2,150 years long. The earth’s equatorial plane will align exactly with its galactic center on December 21, 2012 A.D. This is believed by many to be the beginning of the Age of Aquarius. Whether or not you are a believer in any of this, I think you can still enjoy the song made famous with the release of their 4th album. The 5th Dimension brought the Age of Aquarius to the attention of the freedom generation. Most of us got side-tracked by the allure of progress and materialism. Many of us will be questioning that line of thinking in the near future as we become aligned with a new beginning. The Age of Aquarius will become a welcomed shift in the evolution and progress of mankind. Love, Peace and Harmony will reenter our vocabulary. Oneness will reappear through thought & unity of purpose. People will recognize that joy of life comes from within and was there all along. Happiness will guide the planet and control by fear will disappear. We are having a mayoral race here in Eastsound. The candidates are Dakota, the dog; April the cow who is the local heroine and of course the favorite; and Eggitha the chicken. I have been taking charge of the campaign for Eggitha. Here is the letter to the editor which I wrote on behalf of Eggitha: I would like to toss my hat into the ring for Eggitha for mayor. I am eggsited to give her my plucky support Eggitha may be an underdog and have a few cracks in her platform, but she has int(egg)rity, a heart of gold, and comes from a family of good eggs. Eggitha is a humble chicken, not likely to strut her stuff or feather her own nest egg. In fact, she pledges to clean up government with her feather duster. Eggitha is eggsactly what we are seeking in a civil servant, rather than someone with a more fowl nature. Eggitha will produce for you. She guarantees that your taxes will remain cheep cheep cheaper by the dozen. She is a penny henny pincher who will crow on your behalf. Eggitha will guard the chicken feed in the hen house from the foxes. She will protect your hard earned hard- scrabble. She possesses true grit. Eggitha pledges that where ever she goes, everything grows! Yet she will reduce global warming by reducing emissions. One of her best qualities, she will not crack under pressure. When the going gets tough, she is one tough old bird! Yet she is of good humor, bold, and tells great yolks. Eggitha wishes all the candidates good pluck and a good cluckle! Vote for Eggitha! Maybe the neighbors will also get a good 'cluckle" with this.
